We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the following vacancy at our subsidiary company based in Kuala Lumpur:
OPERATIONS MANAGER (Kuala Lumpur)
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate reports to the General Manager and will be in charge of the Company’s overall shipping operations. Working in close liaison with the Technical, Manning, HSE and Procurement Depts, he would have bottom-line responsibilities in support of the Company’s principal activity of vessel chartering in the ASEAN region as well as in international waters.
Requirements:
- Master Mariner Certification or its equivalent
- Minimum 12 years experience in the marine industry, out of which at least 7 years are spent as a seafarer, including commanding offshore support vessels and at least 5 years are spent holding onshore management positions, especially in the management of tugs and barges.
- Good communication skills; especially fluent in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Well versed in the use of the latest marine telecommunications equipment
- A good working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
- Familiar with vessel documentations, certifications, charter parties and insurance claims
- Experienced in crisis and risk management
- Good knowledge of maritime legislations and international regulations; especially familiar with ISM/ISPS requirements
- Good interpersonal and mentoring skills in multinational environments
