Jawatan Kosong Technical Manager and Operations Superintendent Petra Perdana Bhd

PETRA PERDANA BERHAD, is an offshore marine service provider for the upstream oil & gas industry. The Company is listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the following vacancy at our subsidiary company based in Kuala Lumpur:

Technical Manager (Kuala Lumpur)

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate reports to the General Manager and have bottom-line responsibilities in support of the Company’s principal activities.
  • The incumbent will be primarily responsible for managing the day to day technical operations of the Company’s fleet of vessels.
  • Expected to initiate appropriate steps for vessel improvement (in particular, for better operation / maintenance of deck, engine, equipment and machineries onboard, and to ensure proper documentation / certification / submissions in compliance with ISM and Non-ISM requirements.
  • Expected to formulate work plans, prepare annual expenditure budgets and monitor its utilization according to Company policy.

Requirements:
  • Good communication skills in both oral and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Possess initiative and strong work ethics.
  • Able to lead and work well in a team environment.
  • At least 15 years shipboard experience with minimum ranking of Chief Officer on commercial vessels but offshore support vessels are preferred.
  • Good knowledge in Classification Survey requirements.
  • Class I or Class II Certificate of Competency in Marine Engineering.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Operations Superintendent (Kuala Lumpur)

Responsibilities:
  • The incumbent will be primarily responsible for day to day operations ensuring that all vessel records, certifications and documentations (in particular, for deck maintenance / repairs, bunker fuel usage and vessel daily reports) are kept up to-date and in compliance with government legislation and Company policies/procedures.  He will also assist in coordinating meetings and related work between the crew, HSE and Operations personnel from time to time.

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years shipboard experience with minimum ranking of 2nd Officer onboard cargo vessels.
  • Certificate of Competency of 1st or 2nd Class (Unlimited) Marine Deck Officer.
  • Proficient English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
