We refine, supply, trade and ship crude oil and petroleum products, as well as market and sell transportation fuels, lubricants, speciality products and technical services.



Quality/Lab Manager (Negeri Sembilan - Port Dickson)

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Laboratory Operations as well as to provide Quality Assurance and routine testing support. This includes handling customer complaints related to production in order to improve efficiency of process operation, reliability and financial performance in the short & long term, and to ensure that products produced conform to the Group Lubricant Quality Standard requirements
  • Ensure quality of products manufactured and distributed by Shell Lubricants in the Country of operations meet Shell, customer and legislative requirements
  • Work with Product Management, Operational Product Manager or the Product Quality Coordinator in the region to improve accuracy, efficiency, cost effectiveness and reliability of laboratory. Coach and develop laboratory-based staff
  • Ensure that the plant laboratory complies with Shell Group or local standards and external HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) requirements. Fully deliver the HSSE plan. Ensure the laboratory in the plant complies with requirements of the Lubricant and Grease Quality System (LQS & GQS)
  • Ensure laboratory participates in the quarterly Lubricants Laboratory Correlation Scheme (LLCS)
  • Work with Product Management team to regularly review formulations and optimise base oil, VII (viscosity index improver) and PPD (pour point depressant) to minimise costs
  • Work with the Production team to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing Right First Time performance. Champion the effective use of manufacturing quality assurance tools to enable efficiency improvement and cost reduction in Lubricants Supply Chain (LSC) operations
  • Educate and train plant personnel and customer representatives on products
  • Coordinate with Technical services of the Company on product quality and new product development program, including providing technical support to sales and marketing
  • Establish root cause of quality problems and implement systemic solutions
  • Act as the champion and focal point for the Quality Assurance system
  • Manage and ensure proper disposal of all Scheduled Wastes in LSC Malaysia as well as Laboratory Retained samples
  • Implement HSSE plans, policies, standards and procedures according to the HSSE management system

Requirements:

To be successful in your application, you’ll need to:
  • possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent academic qualification
  • have 6 to 8 years of experience managing laboratory functions of a typical LOBP
  • be competent to handle a variety of both routine/non routine matters
  • have knowledge of various tests and test methods as prescribed under international standards such as ASTM, etc.
  • have knowledge of statistical applications as applicable to laboratory function
  • have the awareness of blending and production operations (this is considered as essential)
  • have experience in ISO 9002/QS9000 or equivalent Quality systems (this is considered as essential)

Finance Manager - Lubricants Supply Chain (Negeri Sembilan - Port Dickson)

Responsibilities:
  • Manage financial information for LSC business. Ensure timely and accurate information submitted/provided
  • Manage planning process for the Operation Unit and detailed operational plan together with local operation team
  • Responsible for Supply Chain data integrity i.e. Opex bay, Capex bay, KPIs, structural cost reduction
  • Ensure proper controls/disciplines on Financial, Control and Governance. Provide professional consultation to Supply Chain team relating to these areas
  • Manage Business Assurance process in Malaysia
  • Monitor and make use of LSC KPIs to provide professional advice to Supply Chain operational team in managing performance result against the targets.
  • Monitor and control of Opex and Capex budgets. Challenge for continuous improvement on cost management.
  • Provide professional support on financial analysis and business analysis to assist Supply Chain team to maximize business opportunities and enable the team to operate at the lowest cost of supply
  • Take part in and drive Supply Chain projects/initiatives, may need to provide professional analysis support for the business/projects

Requirements:
  • Recognized Degree in Business Administration/Finance Management/Accountancy or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years related work experience
  • Preferably, someone who is an Associate or full member of qualified accountant association of the country (e.g. CA, CPA)
  • Strong analytical skills are essential
  • Proven communication and inter-personal skills
  • Has experience and sound knowledge of Management Information system
  • Good knowledge of SAP
  • Background on Lubricants business or products will be an added advantage
  • Authorisation to work in Malaysia is required for this position
