Bumi Armada Berhad is the largest owner and operator of offshore support vessels in Malaysia and is an established and trusted service partner in the oil and gas industry. We have established a strong position in FPSO systems, a growing Transport & Installation business and competency in management of large projects.

HSE Manager (FPSO) (Kuala Lumpur)

Responsibilities:

  • Compiles, analyses, and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning environmental, accidents and occupational illnesses and prepares reports.
  • Coordinates formal safety Assessments on Projects such as Safety case development, HAZOP, HAZID, FRA, QRA etc and ensures the results are input into design.
  • Ensures maintenance of work related accident and illness records, chemical disposal and other records required by law in the regions being operated in.
  • Responsible for the adherence to formulates and recommends policies and measures to decrease or eliminate accidents, health hazards and damage to life and property. Implements and monitors requirements to maintain International Safety Management (ISM).
  • Assists in reviewing projects to ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance. Oversees relevant HSE activities during proposal, execution and operations.
  • Arranges required HSE and ISM audits within BAB and at subcontractor locations. Initiates corrective action measures are required.
  • Ensures that investigation of fires, work related accidents and injuries are conducted in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Develops, supervises, conducts and coordinates training program to increase proficiency in safety consciousness for onshore and offshore staff. Counsels managers and supervisors on safety matter and conducts safety conferences as needed.
  • Effectively manage key financial issues that impact HSE functions and the business.
  • Prepares budget projections and provide input to proposals.

Requirements:
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety), Engineering (Chemical) or Engineering (Mechanical).
  • 10 years of working experience in the development, implementation and on going maintenance of Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures, preferably in design and operation of oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical or refining facilities. Hands-on fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Hazards Administration and EPA (Environment Protection Agency), International Maritime Organization and ISM (International Safety Management) regulations, requirements, standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrate ability to use statistical methods to analyse and report trends.
  • Proficient in English communications, presentation and report writing.
